Hyundai Tucson N Line car review

We had the opportunity to experience first-hand what the new Hyundai N Line is all about. To summarise? An absolute dream car for the family and working professional. With that said, our passenger insight briefly sums up this sporty urban explorer.

The ultimate drive: The all-new Hyundai Tucson N Line

Recently, the MotorHappy team embarked on an excursion to discuss Hyundai’s new Tucson N Line. This latest addition to Hyundai’s lineup is designed to cater to both the practical needs of families and the professional demands of business executives. With its eye-catching design, state-of-the-art technology, and unparalleled driving dynamics, the N Line is set to redefine what it means to drive a Hyundai SUV.

A worthy contender

The latest model of Hyundai’s SUV derivatives is one that stands out the minute it’s on the road. The Tucson N Line offers some amazing colour choices: Crimson Red, White Cream, Phantom Black, and Titan Grey. No matter what colour you choose, this car certainly caught our attention.

As a rival to the VW Tiguan and Mazda CX-5, the N Line makes for a worthy contender. While the capabilities are pretty aligned, this kitted out SUV takes premium to a sportier level. The first thing we noticed about the front is the colour and design, 19” Alloy wheels and beautiful glossy chrome grille.

The standard features that come with the Tucson N Line are also incredible. Ergonomic and effortless, it’s not every day that you can purchase a vehicle with a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated leather seats (front passenger and driver only), wireless charging, as well as an electronic boot system. In addition to this are the nudge bar and tow bar – and for those looking for a car without having to pay for the extra add-ons, this is the car.

In an interview with Hyundai’s Sales Manager at The Glen dealership, Thandeka Nkosi reported on what makes this car top of the line for Hyundai’s customers. “They’re coming to Hyundai because they see the value for money and the longevity of our vehicles. You will really enjoy the car, whether you’re driving in and out of the city or travelling long distances.”

Behind the ‘N Line’ experience

Not only did it feel and look special on the inside, but our test drive also showed us a thing or two about this model.

Firstly, the push-to-start feature is pretty handy. The car also syncs to the keys the minute you approach it, allowing you to hop right in and start the car with ease. It’s a great perk for the busy parents and working professionals who have their hands full.

It’s a diesel-fuelled vehicle, so naturally, you’d think it would feel like you’re revving up an off-road bakkie. Not this model; it purrs so quietly that you’d never think it was a diesel. When you’re out on the road, it performs really well as an all-wheel drive. The automatic 8-speed transmission allows for a smooth and sporty drive, going from 0 to 100 in 9 seconds flat. What’s really cool is that this model is light on fuel, so you can get more out of your journey compared to what you use to get out of older diesel-powered vehicles.

If you’re busy driving through traffic in suburban areas, you’ll have no issue with steering, it feels super sturdy and handles sharp corners really nicely. And if you decide to hit the highway, you can count on the N Line’s amazing safety features:  lane assist,  driver alert warning, and blind spot detection.   These features both offer the driver unique solutions to any risky driving behaviour. For example, if you’ve been driving too long and get tired, audible and visual alerts will encourage you to take it easy or stop for a break. The lane assist feature will alert you when the car has unintentionally shifted from its lane, and the blind spot detection sensor alerts you when others are present in your blind spot.

Having sat in the backseat of the N Line, the legroom is comfortable and spacious, enough room to pack the essentials. The boot gives a spacious home sweet home energy. Whether you’re packing the car for a road trip or have gone on a shopping spree for garments and groceries,  you’re covered with enough space.

In Summary

Overall, the Tucson N Line is considerably one of the most premium mid-tier SUVs for the everyday working individual and jam-packed family. You want wheels that are practical, functional, and effortless on the road. This is definitely the one we recommend you take for a test drive, and be sure to bring the family along.
